The Power of Multiplication

Jesus came and demonstrated the redeemed life. He modeled a sinless life, a life of authority, compassion, healing, and forgiveness. A company of disciples followed Him, observing and learning that what is impossible for people is possible with God. (Lu 18:27) They learned to have compassion for people and to trust God for the impossible.

Before Jesus left, He gave His followers instructions: Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature … make disciples of all nations … (Mk 16:15; Mt 28:19) His plan was to duplicate His work through others. The pattern of Gospel ministry is to DO the work and to ENTRUST others with the work. This is multiplication. The Holy Spirit, the Promise of the Father to all believers, empowers followers of Christ to continue the work that He began to do and teach. This is the same Spirit that had empowered Jesus to do all that He did during His earthly ministry. (Ac 10:38)

The pattern of multiplication defines Osborn Ministries, beginning in 1948 and continuing today. Every evangelism crusade included Soul Winners’ Institutes, training and releasing thousands of new evangelists into Gospel ministry. Over 30,000 national preachers have been assisted by this ministry, sending them into unreached areas to establish self-supporting churches. More than 150,000 such churches have been planted in nations around the world. Gospel books, tracts, and equipment have trained and equipped followers of Christ in over 100 nations. Through the influence, example, and support of this ministry, thousands of unreached areas have received a convincing witness of Jesus Christ. This is the Bible pattern – multiplication.

Timothy stepped in to interpret for me in Mizoram during the Festival of Prayer and Miracles. His ministry expanded. Evangelism, training, youth ministry, and rescuing refugees fleeing cruel persecution in Burma are his and Konya’s priorities. Konya is a gifted teacher and creative guide for hurting youth. They use our books in Mizo and Burmese.

Togo

During our Festival of Faith and Miracles in Togo, Stan was my interpreter. He launched into ministry doing the work of an evangelist whether in the market or on a platform. He proclaims the Gospel of Jesus with signs and wonders following. He has launched a Bible School with our books in French.

Norman Vincent

Uganda

Beginning with the radio ministry in Uganda, among the Runyankole-speaking people, thousands of conversions are recorded, hundreds of miracles are taking place as people learn to trust in God, churches are being planted and the Daughters of Hope Creations is training hundreds of former prostitute converts with a skill that provides to them a new beginning. Just this week 321 people accepted Christ, 213 healing miracles were registered, and 93 persons were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Pastor Norman’s evangelism ministry is attracting thousands to Christ. He said, “Since God brought you into my life, everything has changed. I am a new man. Thank you for your teachings. I have learned to apply them and everything in my life and ministry has changed. I thank God for you.”

Olivier and Carine Niyongabire

Rwanda

Focusing on ministry to people in the refugee camps of Rwanda and Uganda, this couple embodies a great vision: Every convert becomes a disciple-maker! This is a biblical vision, but they had no books or teaching materials to train their leaders. Because of our partners, we stepped up and are providing books and teaching materials in Kinyarwanda. One soul winner said, “I had a passion to evangelize, but didn’t know how. The book, ‘God’s Big Picture’ taught me everything. This is the greatest teaching for believers who don’t know where to start. Now I can advance Christ’s mission to the world.” Food, medicine, and Bibles are being given, thanks to our partners.

Long time friends of this ministry, the Gallardos do the work of ministry on many levels, including feeding children, rescuing the abandoned, evangelizing, planting churches, training leaders, and helping women to see their place in the Kingdom of God. Serving as my interpreter in three Festivals of Faith and Miracles in the DRC, his ministry has flourished. His focus is training believers in the art of personal evangelism.
