“ … lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” Jn 4:35
We are working with an amazing team of young men and women who are evangelizing in these camps. Their passion is to win people to faith in Jesus Christ and develop them into disciple-makers! The camps can be reached as EVERY NEW BELIEVER BECOMES A WITNESS OF JESUS AND HIS RESURRECTION.
What is our response?
When we “lift up our eyes and look” we see a field ripe for harvest. When we see a need, we trust God to help us to BE THE LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS. As our partner, YOU are that light with us!
This is the Gospel of HOPE.
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32)
Jesus has given us the greatest privilege, to be His LIGHT in deep darkness. He was continually teaching His disciples to look beyond themselves to the opportunities that were present to help others. This is Christian living and ministry. We are the light. If we do not shine, the darkness wins!
We are responding to one of the greatest human needs that I’ve witnessed in my many years of ministry. There are at least 2.5 million refugees in Africa alone, hundreds of thousands in refugee camps in Uganda and Rwanda. Due to famine, war, and genocide, people flee, leaving their homes and possessions behind. When they arrive at the camps, they are without hope, sick, and hungry. The needs are raw.
Every day, this Refugee Camp Ministry Team is allowing God to … raise the poor from the dust; and lift the beggars from the ash heap, to set them among royalty … (1 Sam 2:8) Hundreds are accepting Christ and are involved in training to make disciples. YOU are part of every evangelism action through your partnership with us.
This is the Gospel of RESTORATION and PURPOSE.
“If you can believe, all things are possible to the one who believes.” (Mk 9:23)
The first appeal that we received from this Refugee Ministry Team was for teaching material to train the leaders and the new converts. Already over 1,000 Bibles have been provided for these ambassadors of Christ.
After their baby boy arrived he became sick and was taken to the hospital. The doctor told the parents, “The baby is dying. You need to go and make funeral arrangements.” As Olivier and Carine stood around the baby’s bed praying, the baby stopped breathing. Olivier told the doctor, “We believe in miracles. The baby will live.” After ten minutes, the baby was restored to life! The doctor was shocked and gave his life to Jesus!
This is the Gospel of MIRACLES.
“You give them something to eat.” (Lu 9:13)
As the refugees flee their homes and arrive at the camps, they have nothing. When the multitude followed Jesus and became hungry, He told His disciples, “You give them something to eat.” (Lu 9:13) How do we say, “God loves you” to starving people unless we can give them some food? We see the love-power of Jesus partnering with the disciples to provide the miracle food that fed the people. Jesus loved the people. He still loves hungry people. How do we show His love to hungry people? We feed them!
Along with our partners, we are providing food to demonstrate God’s love for these refugees. When they receive the food, they make decisions to trust this Jesus. This is evangelism.
God has touched the hearts of many of our partners who have filled our hands with the funds to fill the stomachs of people in the camps. God blesses those who do His work.
This is the Gospel of LOVE.
“So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil … “ (Lu 10:34)
A strategy of genocide to destroy the Banyarwanda people, is resulting in extreme human tragedy. The men are being abducted, the women systematically raped, children are abused, limbs and bodies are cut with machetes. When the survivors arrive at the camp, they are broken and hopeless. We believe that every crisis is an opportunity for the Gospel to demonstrate the love of God.
We are receiving help to provide the much needed bandages, medicines, and medical care that is needed. Women infected with STDs are receiving medicine, counseling, and personal care. When we see bruised and beaten bodies, we are the ones who represent Jesus in binding up their wounds. Thank you for standing with us in this rescue mission.
This is the Gospel of COMPASSION.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations …” (Mt 28:19)
A strategy of genocide to destroy the Banyarwanda people, is resulting in extreme human tragedy. The men are being abducted, the women systematically raped, children are abused, limbs and bodies are cut with machetes. When the survivors arrive at the camp, they are broken and hopeless. We believe that every crisis is an opportunity for the Gospel to demonstrate the love of God.
Two of our Gospel books have now been translated into Kinyarwanda, God’s Big Picture, and Soul Winning. The translation costs are high. We have confidence that God will provide through people who catch this vision. Next, we will add, The Good Life. These three books create a Gospel package that equips and empowers Gospel proclaimers. We pray that God will increase you so that you can provide these vital resources.
This is the Gospel of INCREASE.
“So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them … they came and filled both boats …” (Lu 5:7)
Great harvests can only be gathered as believers do their part. We are the link between YOU as our partner, and the vast NEEDS of people whom God loves.
Thanks for your faithfulness to the work of Christ, as together, we are the MIRACLE OF HOPE in a hopeless world.
I am your partner in Christ’s ministry,
